The Alumnae Association presents the Syrena Stackpole Award annually at reunion in recognition of a lifetime of dedicated service and exceptional commitment to Wellesley College. In 2026, it went to two legendary members of the class of 1966: President Emerita Diana Chapman Walsh and Trustee Emerita Lulu Chow Wang. In announcing Walsh as a recipient, Erin Corcoran ’13, assistant vice president of the WCAA, said, “This alumna has done so much for the College that, in addition to receiving an Alumnae Achievement Award in 2008, this very building was named in her honor. The College would not be the same without her serving in her most famous role as the 12th president and president emerita of Wellesley College.” Corcoran said of Wang, “She has been a dedicated Wellesley volunteer for decades, serving as a trustee, an effective executive committee member for several Wellesley campaigns, a member of the Business Leadership Council, as a Durant committee member for her class, and so, so much more. … As the College’s most generous living donor, because of her visionary philanthropy, Wellesley has a beloved and buzzing campus center and the best-in-class career education center that benefits students and alumnae.”
