As part of the College’s new three-day immersive Civic Action Lab in August, 30 sophomores traveled to Thompson Island in Boston Harbor and participated in team building exercises. “I feel more confident in my strength as a leader. I’ve also learned that collaboration with different opinions is possible if everyone has an open mindset,” one student reflected.

Shennan to Step Down as Provost in 2024
CategoriesIn a letter to the Wellesley community, Provost and Lia Gelin Poorvu ’56 Dean of the College Andrew Shennan announced that he will step down from the position he has held for 20 years. In that capacity, he has overseen all academic programs as well as library and technology services and budgetary and strategic planning. His term will conclude on June 30, 2024.
