Please beware of online fraud, particularly recent phishing schemes that have hit groups in the Wellesley community. You may receive what looks like a legitimate email from someone in your club, class, or SIG with a request to purchase gift cards or wire funds somewhere. While the name may be someone you know, the actual email address it comes from will likely not match up with what’s in your address book. (You can see the return address by hovering your cursor over the sender’s name. Never press reply on a suspect message.) No one from a Wellesley group will be asking you to make a gift-card purchase and then ask for the activated codes. In the case of a request for a fund transfer, always get a verbal confirmation by calling a known number before taking action.
To keep your Wellesley address safe, the College’s computing help desk will no longer be accepting password reset requests by email. Please visit https://webapps.wellesley.edu/alum_pwd_reset/ to make a change. If you have questions, please call 781-283-7777.
