One hundred and fifty years ago, Wellesley College opened its doors to 314 students eager to learn in a world that did not yet expect them to learn, let alone lead. Five years later, 59 graduates gathered in the drawing room of College Hall to form the Alumnae Association—planting the seeds of a community now over 35,000 strong.

New and noteworthy from campus

In March, more than 180 guests gathered at Asia Society Hong Kong for a vibrant discussion of leadership, community, and Wellesley’s enduring mission.

I am thrilled to return to campus as the assistant vice president for alumnae relations and global engagement, and I’m eager to get to know and work with you as I settle into the role.

In April, the new Vivian A. Kao ’04 Health and Counseling Center opened its doors to the College community.

Following her nomination by the Wellesley College Alumnae Association Board, the Wellesley College Board of Trustees has elected Pier Rogers ’75 to serve a six-year term as alumnae trustee from 2025 to 2031, succeeding Suzanne Frey ’93.

“Our endowment allows the Wellesley community to be socioeconomically diverse and makes us a place where students can discover, in the words of our second president, Alice Freeman Palmer, ‘the wealth that lies in differences.’”

Erin Corcoran ’13, a longtime volunteer for the College, left her career in public service at the Pentagon to return to Wellesley as assistant vice president of the Wellesley College Alumnae Association.
