Wellesley’s 150th anniversary is a moment to honor the College’s long tradition of service and embody its motto, Non Ministrari sed Ministrare. To mark this milestone, the College community is aiming to collectively complete 150,000 hours of volunteer service worldwide by May 2026.
Alumnae are invited to choose a project that matters to them, volunteer individually or with a group, and make a meaningful impact in their communities, whether they team up with friends, family, colleagues, or their local Wellesley alumnae club. Participants who log hours can celebrate their contribution with the Non Ministrari sed Ministrare T-shirt, available for purchase in class colors and classic Wellesley blue. (WCAA staff members Helen Gregory ’90, Margaret Chouinard, Margaret Maurukas, and Erin Corcoran ’13 model the T-shirts above.)
By the end of September 2025, 81 volunteers had already logged 7,009 hours across 56 countries, representing classes from 1961 to 2028. You can track progress toward our goal and submit your hours at the Sed Ministrare Service Challenge website here.
Erin Corcoran ’13, assistant vice president for alumnae relations and global engagement, urges alumnae to pitch in. “We’re thrilled to have so many alumnae and community members demonstrate Wellesley’s commitment to making a difference in the world through this program. It’s been amazing to count so many service events in just the first few weeks of the challenge, and we can’t wait to watch our alumnae groups get us to 150,000 hours,” she says.
