Dolores Arredondo ’95 has been nominated to serve a six-year term as alumnae trustee, from 2022 to 2028, succeeding Alvia Wardlaw ’69.
Arredondo is senior vice president of business-to-consumer segment marketing at City National Bank, a subsidiary of Royal Bank of Canada. Before joining City National, Arredondo was a vice president and marketing executive for the consumer lending group and community bank at Wells Fargo & Co., where she spearheaded important initiatives including business banking, millennial, and diverse segments growth strategies.
At Wellesley, she majored in psychology and Latin American studies. She went on to earn an M.B.A. from Pepperdine University’s Graziadio School of Business and Management.
The recipient of many honors, Arredondo has been recognized for her work to bring financial education and access to mainstream banking to under-banked communities. She was named a Young Hispanic Corporate Achiever by the Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility and was a recipient of the inaugural Mujeres Destacadas Business Award by the newspaper La Opinión.
A passionate volunteer, she is a leader in the nonprofit community and serves on the advisory board for Hispanas Organized for Political Equality (HOPE) and College Match Los Angeles. She is finishing her term on the Wellesley College Alumnae Association board of directors, and she has also served as the president of the Wellesley College Latina Alumnae Network; president and board member of the Wellesley Club of Pasadena; and as a member of the Southern California Leadership Gift Committee.
“Wellesley College changed my life,” Arredondo says. “I was born and raised in East Los Angeles, where many students didn’t finish high school, let alone dream of going to college. I was the first in my family to attend college, and Wellesley helped prepare and embolden me to succeed in life. For me, my Wellesley education is about serving others and helping to change lives.”
