Ali Kwiecien ’25 was elected to serve as Wellesley’s Young Alumnae Trustee from 2025 to 2028, succeeding Tatiana Ivy Moise ’21. A neuroscience and anthropology double major currently living in Brookline, Mass., Kwiecien is an aspiring physician-anthropologist passionate about advancing maternal and reproductive health care by integrating neuroscience, global health, and social justice. A first-generation student who arrived at Wellesley as a member of the class of 2023, Kwiecien was a member of the varsity crew team and a Pamela Daniels Fellow, and for her senior thesis she led an independent ethnographic research project on adolescent pregnancy and reproductive decision-making in Palawan, Philippines. “I am intimately familiar with failure and the support—from the people at Wellesley—that held on when I was ready to let go,” she wrote in her candidate statement. “I believe this perspective is essential on the board—as I was required to demonstrate resilience and tenacity to return to the College. Overall, I am deeply indebted to Wellesley for the powerful foundation it has embedded in me.”
